Withdrawal, Transfer, and Refund Policy

Withdrawals

You can withdraw and receive a full 100% refund, subject to any applicable administrative fees, by making this request through the “My Enrollment History” section on your online learner profile within the applicable timeline specified in the chart below (Withdrawal and Transfer Timelines). If you are unable to make changes to your course through your account, please email watspeed@uwaterloo.ca.  No refund will be granted for withdrawal requests made after the applicable timeline.

The following actions will not be deemed to be a withdrawal:

  1. Cancelling a credit card payment.
  2. Failing to attend or participate in any course-related scheduled activities or to complete a course.
  3. Informing the instructor that you will no longer attend or participate in any course-related activities.

 

Transfers

You can transfer your enrollment for a course by emailing watspeed@uwaterloo.ca within the applicable timeline specified in the chart below. Please include your name, the course(s)/section(s) for which you are registered and which course(s)/section(s) you would like to transfer to. You may only transfer to a course of the same price for which you are enrolled. No transfers will be granted for requests made after the applicable timeline. Transfers to another course(s)/section(s) is subject to available enrollment space.

Up to seven days in advance of start date of the course. However, a full refund will be issued if WatSPEED cancels the course. None
Ed2Go (online skills training)

INSTRUCTOR-MODERATED COURSES: Up to 13 days after the start date of the course, inclusive of the start date.

SELF-GUIDED COURSES: Up to two days after you first access the course, not inclusive of this first date of course access. If you complete a self-paced tutorial, you will not be entitled to receive a refund.

Technology courses and programs EXCEPT for Foundations of Large Language Models:

  • All courses under the Data Science certificate program
  • All courses under the Data Analytics for Behavioural Insights certificate program
  • Digital Transformation*
  • Secure Coding*
  • Python for Machine Learning: The Essential Starter Kit
  • Supervised Machine Learning: From Classification to Prediction
  • Unsupervised Machine Learning
  • Python I

Up to 14 days after the start date.

$75 for withdrawals only. Transfers are not charged an administrative fee.
Management of Oral Anticoagulation Therapy (MOAT)

 

Up to 1 day in advance of the start date of the course.

ISC2 courses and certification training materials

There are no refunds on ISC2 products. All sales are final.

None

CompTIA Courses:

  • Network+ Exam Preparation

Up to thirty (30) days after the start date, inclusive of the start date. Additionally, you must have accessed the course content for less than two (2) hours.

None

*The $75 administrative fee for withdrawals will not be charged to Secure Coding and Digital Transformation when taken as part of the WatSPEED’s Career Accelerator Program.

General

If you withdraw from a course, you will not be entitled to receive a certificate, irrespective of whether you received a refund.

All refunds issued in accordance with this Policy must be returned via the original method of payment.
