Prerequisites
  • No prerequisite education or work experience is required for this course.
  • A working literacy of computing devices, operating systems, and the internet will help in this course. 
  • Basic experience with Linux bash programming.
  • At least an introductory understanding of popular programming languages used in systems development, like Python and C.
  • No prerequisite education or work experience is required for this course or CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • A degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science is recommended, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of programming and programming languages is strongly recommended.
  • At least two years of coding experience in Java, Python, C, C++, or JavaScript is required.
  • Five or more years experience as a security professional; OR
  • Four years of work experience in the cybersecurity field and an undergraduate degree.

A candidate who does not have the required experience to become a CISSP may become an Associate of ISC2 by successfully passing the CISSP examination. They will still hold the CISSP certification.
